Velvet, Saxony, Frieze, Shag, and Cable are all types of the cut pile style, each having their own unique characteristics. Loop Pile - Yarns that are uncut at the surface. They are extremely durable, soil resistant, and perfect for high traffic areas. Berber is a popular example of a loop pile carpet. Cut and Loop Pile - Yarns that are both cut and looped to create a different visual appearance. Do not provide the same durability as a loop pile.
